Little Did I Know

Little did I know
She'd suddenly go,
And we'd never meet again;
Now I live with pain,
And even after forty years
And countless tears,
Her memories live in me,
If only she could see.

Little did I know
Life would show
Such a tragic day,
Which would forever stay
Fresh before my eyes,
And now I realize
She came to bless me,
She came to caress me.

Little did I know
Our bond would grow,
And the passage of time
Has made memories sublime;
I can still see
Her love for me;
She was an angel who
Unexpectedly flew.
