Theme: Loss

Telling A Lie

Telling a lie is an art,
though speaking the truth
is indeed a brave act;

Tactful is he who tells lies,
an extra coat of sugary words
he with a smile applies;

Naive are the ones who speak truth,
face everyone’s shouting and wrath
for causing though never a blood bath;

‘Smile and smile yet be a villain’, says the bard,
Suffer and suffer to utter the truth
Still none lends the ear – is it not sad?!

Yet truth often wins, lies fall flat,
for, can clouds convince even a few
the sky to be grey and not blue?

Comment Thank you, Bijay babu. Says Chanakya, 'Satyam bada priyam bada, n bada satyam apriyam' (Speak truth speak pleasant, say not unpleasant truth}. It is also said by telling a lie if the society gets the benefit, tell a little lie!
However, truth is ever a reward.

Comment Satyameva jayate, truth only prevails, sir. King Harischandra, Queen Sabya and son Rohit's story flashes upon the mind's eye. Mahatma Gandhi though not a good student was.
Johny, Johny, yes papa...
