One woman steps upon the floor swaying to the rhythm there
Another shyly joins her and the two become as one
Now a third and fourth alight as if stepping from a cloud
Their bodies now in harmony; their movements create a symphony.
Following an unseen call more women join the reverie
And all are synchronised into one joyous heartbeat
Now the room grows quiet but for music and swish of limbs
The circle spins, entrancing all; this is women’s business.
One dancer changes her mudra and the others follow on
Arms and legs and hands and eyes are now part of this song
This is sheer untempered joy that fills the room with climbing bliss
This is heaven’s song on earth, these dakinis lift my spirit.
