Not to sleep again, not yet:
Last night’s dream is still raw.
Rising dust storm in the eye,
Kicking up red dust, approached sleep.
Door of eyelids noisily flapping
Closes shut suddenly.
Carrying logs of broken memories
Like floats,
Like a flood comes a dream.
I was rendered shelterless
In yesterday’s flood.
Not to sleep again, not yet.
Last night’s dream
Is still raw.
Dream is a gash unseen
Sleep that comes and goes would do this and depart
Dream is a death mystery: of fears and fantasies
Like a friend long dead
Appears in some myriad flashes
Amidst interminable thoughts.
Last night’s dream
Remains still raw.
