We are Bengalis and for us Makha Bhaat implies Mixed Rice :-)
For the past 19 years, our staple diet has been rice and I often mix rice with daal, sabzi, etc. for my husband and children and then serve them with plates and spoons so they can scoop up their portions. They love my haathe makha bhaat as it adds to the taste and flavour because of the way it's mixed. Hence, I never have long nails and never use nail polish as you need to have good, clean, loving hands to mix food for your family :-)
