Why do sages, saints and seers
meditate ages in search of truth,
love and compassion,
that too in deep forests
lonely and in conditions so adverse?
Is it not a fact
that truth’s abode is mother’s tongue,
mother's heart holds the lotus of love
and compassion has its roots
in the flood of her tears
I shall therefore, Oh dear mother,
hear your sweet words,
take solace to inherit your love
and shall visit no temple to hear
the music of compassion.
Instead, I shall sit at your feet
and worship you forever...
for you are my deity, you are my god,
you are my life and you are my treasure!
