A tornado
raging past
again and again
demolishing the ties
the bonds of thousands
relentlessly
out of control
with no reason
scattering all hope
for a better life
yet again.
A tearing sense of rage
destroying, burning
everything in its path
hate poisons love
and explodes
against them
who is loved the most
the water needed
to soothe the fire
is realization.
Emotional clouds
gathering in
the distant horizon
letting fall
its futile tears
wanting, yet unwilling
to right the destruction
it has caused.
Shrieking, screaming
the waylaying gale
knows the suffering it causes
knows the hearts it breaks
and cries out in pain
yet drives obstinately on
breaking its own heart.
In control
yet out of will
the tornado rages
devastating
disrupting
the million lives around
as well as itself.
