As usual, it caught everyone by surprise:
The Burma cyclone was such manifestation.
Disasters each have their focus of attention,
Enough to galvanise into action the charities.
Aid efforts were making headway, enough
To reach the few, the many beyond reach;
The bloated corpses floating each
On green TV screens, as if
Signalling the unmentionable tag
Of retributive justice done for some wrong;
Until a child-size torso drifted along,
Rotating face-down in the current’s drag;
Leaving one lost for words and reasons.
Leaving one trapped by the world's parameters
Of life, this death negates, all hope deters;
Yet life goes on; disasters are but seasons.
