My Poem Sings The Hymns of Dawn

My poem wipes a tear or two
From the cheeks of a lonely child
My poem ripples the moonlit lakes
And answers the call of the wild

My poem brightens deep dungeons
Of unnerving despair
With a ray of hope and the courage to cope
With the lack of warmth and care

My poem scales unconquered peaks
Of the elusive infinite
My poem sings the hymns of dawn
In the middle of a gloomy night

At times my poem turns inward
To fathom my own ken
And returns with a fresh insight
In to the things mundane
