Even in mizzling rain You don’t allow the water in you Which no open dry field accepts To drop! How weak are you... You make friends with men who argue And with their shadows You are ridiculed by them who don’t shake your hand! Making yourself hateful and neglected A vagrant unable To feel with the culture frozen in you Discarded by all! You are the one waiting on the shore For a boat that wouldn’t arrive to touch An ancient, forgotten one are you! Amidst ruined leaves, waiting for a stored memory! When a waterfall makes noises falling on boulders Translating the silent nights Vagrant, you are joy embracing nights As night's moonshine, flutes, waterfalls, jasmines and clouds!!!
(Original in Telugu by Mallavarapu Prabhakara Rao)
