On visiting a graveyard

On visiting a graveyard1.jpg
Once gone astray I made my way
To a remote graveyard vain
Miles away from where I live
Long forgotten, where no one dwells
A crowd of dead, where hushed to sleep
Lost myself there within, I lost myself there.
A short pause, just to glance back
To see the riches he once had
Then forlorn the spirit treks
There onward a loner’s voyage.
Abandoned from life and all alone
Zonked with pain of separation
From here he walks a long walk,
To the light at the end of the channel
Where the lost and lonely fade
Towards the coast of heaven.
Under an old banyan tree I paused
It casted down a shade of pain
In its shade laid a silent grave
None but the tree remembers the dead
No flowers strewn upon the marble
Words embedded deep in stone
Disclosed the person’s name 'on it'
And told me about the years of ago
No heart pours upon it any more
The bond was broken long ago.
A carpet of emerald green surrounds it
Beautified by the grace of little wilds
A delicate shrub stood beside it
Head bowed as if in prayer
The leaves rustled stirred by the breeze
The wind murmured softly to my ears
A tale about the sleeping in the earth
Though faded out into the memoirs
The sun has traversed through the sky
Nourishing the shades to take mystic shapes
With emotions fierce I lost myself
In the vale of tears and dead.
