The Invisible

The invisible may scare you
Like ghosts or phantoms do
But the invisible fascinates too
Like dreams or fantasies do

The invisible could be dreadful
Like death.
Death is certain
Yet
It makes us flinch.

It’s formless,
Colourless,
Even tasteless
But it’s certain,
It’s a ‘must’
Should we dread it?

Were it visible,
Had a shape,
Or colour
We could
Implore, pray,
Coax or persuade,
Even fight it
But it’s invisible
