Theme: Hypocrisy

Sly

When mind wanders elsewhere
insincere becomes the prayer,
Blame not the chosen deity
that ignores the phony piety

Ready to kill and destroy
in the name of the unknown,
Unwilling to bend even a bit
to render help to downtrodden

Advising everyone of good action
flowered with expressive speech,
Talk not of doctrines or morality
if practicing not, what you preach

Comment A fine poetic hit and dig at the hidden agenda. The Sly are more dangerous and do incalculable damage to the moral fibre and sensitivity to human well-being. The last two lines are a sensible rebuke to the cheats who play and practice fraud. A good poem!

Comment Example is better precept is the thing deliberation here in this poem.
If you have to give a lesson, first follow you then give you it to the other people.

Comment Each word is thought provoking! The discourse forces one to reflect on self. And then self introspection renders one speechless.
