Irony

The pain and agony of a woman
Delivering her progeny will be the same
Be it in Jerusalem or otherwise
 
The salt in her tears
Is never an indicator
Of the gravity of her labor
 
But in due course of time
They turn into tears of joy
That’s the irony
 
The salt still remains
