Renunciation

As one ages
the decaying body
brings to focus
the fragility of life

Realization dawns,
withdrawal commences
from the messy rivalries
and greedy ambitions

Accepting with gratitude
whatever life bequeaths
to become burden-free
of all likes and dislikes

One, fearless of any loss
or worrisome of any gain
immerses in relaxation,
until the vacation is over
