Two renowned scholars
were discussing the fundamentals of life
giving excellent speeches;
the audience was cheering them
with applause and the sound of the claps
differentiated who was leading.

That’s when the sensible discussion
transformed into a competition,
inviting Ego and tossing Morality
out of the window. The idea of winning
turned the discussion into an obtuse argument
and the original idea was pulverized.

The debate ended inconclusive.
However, there was one observer,
paying total attention, not to the orators,
but to the words, and walked away content,
akin to the wandering mystic,
with the discovery of an aphorism.
