Comes spring -
And all life laughs
The flowers merrily sing
The zephyrs gently blow
The mind - the mind is full of joyous dreams!
The lilting voice of the child
The adoring voice of the lover
With arms full of spring flowers
A promise of fulfilled love!
Comes autumn -
And all the wilted flowers
The withered and falling leaves
Not the Fall of colours
But a cascade of sorrows
With the crinkling, crushed leaves
Dried thorns and wilting flowers
Broken stems, all to earth return
When you walk this pathway
Tread deftly and softly
For intermingled within
Somewhere lies my life and dreams.
