Conscience, the apparent Self,
transcends all dualities,
is poised, a carefree witness,
knows all, yet remains buried
beneath the vagaries of mind.
This sense of right and wrong
pokes, nudges through whispers
indicating the do’s and don’ts
reasoning why and what to do
but stays reserved on how to act.
The scriptures have since eons
preached to conquer the mind,
to crush the reservation on how
for a logical and ethical response
rather than a reckless reaction.
Going by conviction and desire man does so many things taking risk in life. But conscience is the moral keeper that pricks one when one goes wrong and never appreciates one when one does good or right things! When one in adventure does all things right or wrong irrespective of conscience!

Yes conscience is more suppressed by many ordinary people and they commit dins. Individual nature will prevail over what is write or wrong.
