Theme: Ride

My Last Ride

No, no, it was not infatuation
it was my youthful passion
insatiable hunger for love
held back for ages, sprouted in Shakespearean fashion…

Driven mad, I enjoyed her beauty to the full
romance on the roadside or in the hidden holes…
We met with kisses, parted with kisses
in between, our lips quivered to shame the hisses…

Two long years of whirlwind romance
no arguments, no staleness, only dance…
But one day the wind didn’t blow my way
she became cool, rather cold, that hot and sexy trance…

Maybe, I had not made the mark
I found her smiling at the shark…
No, she couldn’t ditch me for that dirty dragon
how could she hide such a nasty mobile-deception…

No, if not mine, she couldn’t sleep in any other’s bed
if not love, her lust would all be painted in red
I loosened the brakes of her favourite car
invited her to have a grand ride to the coffee-bar…
She sat by me with those uncertain looks
the devil in me urged me to have her in the hooks…
But suddenly I thought of Browning and his Last Ride
Love only gives, could it take her life? Asked my guide…

Disgusted, I slowed down, looked into her bewildering eyes
suddenly opened the door, pushed her out on the sidelines…
Flew past her with no brakes
and crashed the car into a huge heap of stinking stakes…
