Recalling, remembering the past,
Flipping through the catalogue of memories,
I choose yours and mine.
Still sharp, they cut through my heart,
Hurt my eyes with salt,
And bleed my soul.
‘Don’t bother about me, I’ll manage’.
Can’t manage this sadness,
Losing myself without you,

All I wanted was,
A pinch of trust, a dash of love.
I walked away from your indifference,
From your unloving,
One step at a time.
We heard each other no more,
You longed for me,
I pined for you,
A lifetime of absence,
A void so huge,
A chasm so wide,

Love is a bridge, we found out.
