It looks like very soon
Normalcy in life will prevail
As it is apparent in city now
From the relaxed corona curfew
Of course with certain riders
Public places and utilities, and
Even markets and malls are
Now open on the weekdays.
As I stroll still masked
In this busy lane
In the vicinity of my society
I find business as usual
Yet certain things amiss…
The closed corner grocery shop
The middle-aged chirpy vendor
With his missing vegetables’ trolley
And the popular chatwalah
Near the ever busy Phoenix Mall
Also the children’s comics kiosk
All look still deserted and closed…
So where are these guys now,
Where have they gone?
A discreet inquiry reveals
They have all become victims
Of nasty second Covid-19 wave
The vicious Chinese coronavirus
Forced them to untimely leave
For their heavenly abode
Now, we will never see them again.
