Theme: Dreams

Wild Geese and Dreams

Haloed by the honey and orange glow
Of an ebbing day, I look up
And watch a skein of grey and white geese
Honking towards their goal
Unhurriedly silvery stars begin
To speckle the dark blue dome of night
Seeming to create for me a shimmery
Vision of myself that I hold dear

I ask them to lend me their silver light
To brighten up my tarnished soul
To help me lighten up its burden
Of grey anxieties, dandelion ambitions,
And rosy desires — often
The price of our way of life

I request them to sweeten my spirit,
Cleanse it of its dusty clutter
That I may release it of pettiness
Forgive magnanimously,
Let go of any pomposity,
Knowing others are not
The lesser for their differences

To ignite the jewels inside me
Of contentment, appreciation,
Kindness, empathy, generosity... may I give
Just as I accept with grace the love of others
To remember that I am blessed manifold
And be grateful for all those blessings
As I share my abundance without a grudge

I pray that the stars nourish the golden flame
That flares within me and you, and you
And all kindred souls join in tranquillity
Envisioning with me a harmonious world
Awakening as one to our Cosmic consciousness
Coaxing mankind to the sacredness at its core
