Theme: Tiredness

When Back Home from Work

I usually carry the heaviness of the day:
Some on my aching back;
Some in the recess of mind;
Some in the deepest core of my heart.

When back home from work
I somehow let the tiredness rest outside
Alone in undisturbed silence
Brooding in the dark courtyard of the night.

Before I step inside,
I wear the homely mask of responsibility-
Father and husband,
Well hung above on the doorstep.

While hope and happiness are awake
On the drowsy eyelids;
Sleep makes us fall in its embrace
Only to wake us up with a bright morning.
