If inertia deters you
From living a life as you like
Drown yourself in the pool
Of infatuating alcohol,

If nostalgic past surrounds
The present with dusty mist
Sprinkle your surroundings
With the smell of alcohol,

If painful memory turns a hornet
To whirl over the flower of your mind
Pacify it with
The nectar-like alcohol,

But, if ever guilt complex bites
Courting friendship with alcohol
Provides no respite

It only urges you to burst out
With suppressed pain
Crystallizing behind a glum face.
