Could I love you? After goodbye
I find myself missing your warm eyes
Your pleasant and yet childish manner
Your expertise at endless banter
 
And the moments we had together -
The smiles and the laughter
How life simply feels easier
When you're around
 
But this is all a lie
A temporary high
Because although I try
Sometimes when I think of you
 
I don't feel anything at all
I can’t find an excuse to fall
My heart has no reason to stall
When I'm with you
 
From now on, I will not play pretend
My broken heart is not for you to mend
I guess this is where it ends.
