Euphoria

when words fail

and the heart is full

with speechless awe

when the mind

is stilled with the silence

of the surroundings

and every sense

thrills to  

ambient bliss

when the setting sun  

sets the sky afire

and the hills

blanketed in a blue mist

or lush with bushes

and verdant trees

sprawl endlessly

when bird calls

hush in the trees

and the flowers 

smile adieu to the day

then I know I am in heaven

I ask for no more
