Theme: Life

Assessment

The materialist postulates:
“We live only once”
and ironically
keeps dying every day.

The mystic asserts:
“We die only once”
and blissfully
keeps living every day.

Comment So true!
Being in this world with 'contentment ' is living indeed.

Comment Too good! A positive contradictory terms which deserves congratulations. While the first stanza espouses the principles of Sage Charvaka, the second reminds us of Gautama Buddha who renounced palaces and luxuries to attain Nirvana once and for all. Reading this poem reminds me of Oscar Wilde's story of the Happy Prince.
