Footsteps - Tapestry Poem

I hear Your footsteps in my garden

the tinkle of Your taps on my window panes

But do I listen to Your calling?

Whilst entrenched in my ego desires

I ignore the truth of my life

Now in my twilight years

I will at last fling open my doors and windows

let the Creator's light infuse my whole being

and tread the path of finer peace and harmony.

                                                                   - Avril

As you walked me through my growing years

You have left a track of love and wisdom

Too immense for me to step into or match

Today I make my own impressions

To guide my children as yours guide me

Through the uncertainties of life

Ma, the marks you have left in my heart

Fill me with peace, joy and gratitude

Thanks to you, my soul sings and dances

Tapestry

Ma, as you walked me through my growing years

I heard His footsteps in the garden

but did I listen to His calling?

The tinkle of His taps on window panes

left a track of love and wisdom

too immense for me to step into or match

whilst entrenched in my ego desires.

Through the uncertainties of life

the marks you have left in my heart

fill me with joy and gratitude.

I tread the path of inner peace and harmony

making my own impressions

to guide my children as yours still guide me.

Thanks to you, now in my twilight years,

my soul sings and dances.

I fling open my doors and windows

to let the Creator’s light infuse my whole being

no longer ignoring the truth of my life.
