My best friend lamented
I love fascinating autumn colours
With leaves turning red, magenta,
Orange, gold, amber, purple, and so on…
But I get nostalgic, sad and cry
When they wither, fall and dry.
I told the loved one not to cry
That’s the way of life in this cosmos
Everything is ephemeral and transient
While Autumn is nature’s way
Of reminding us all mortals,
How beautiful could be even a letting go!
