A noble soul bids farewell, unbidden,
Physical pain numbed.
Within, a Spring yearning
Remembrance starts.
Echoes of laughter from days gone by,
Memories cascade, flooding the mind.
Oh! The joy of our yesteryears,
If only time could be frozen, rewound, aligned.
Regimented, yet carefree days,
Work and Play in a perfect blend.
Within the hearth, mirth found its throne,
Carrom Board and chess, kingdoms known.
Neighbors, Players and Onlookers gaze
As Cricket and Hockey weave their maze.
The hockey stick, a wooden blade,
Crafted with skill, in games it played.
Yet amidst the fervor, a finger’s plight
Bore witness to the game’s fierce fight.
Ma’s tale of early marriage bliss
Outings in evenings, stars above
Yearning for her culinary delight
Dal and potato fries, a savory bite.
Brotherly bonds, like rivers wide
Flowing with talent, spanning far and wide
From numbers to electronics grace
In childhood’s innocence, we find our place.
And on a fine day, we all must depart,
On the journey you undertook ahead
Leaving us behind, forlorn and bereft,
But hoping for a reunion, where paths are led.
So long, dear brother, on your way,
May happiness embrace you every day,
Until we meet again, in realms unknown,
Farewell for now, in this journey alone. |
