I went to the farmland

To hear it

When harvesting was in swing

And about to finish

Again during Baisakhi

I heard the beats of Bhangra.

In traditional trade gear

Turban, lungi and kurta

And with the big drums

Hanging onto and tapped

And beaten and danced

With choric folk song, dance

And romance so playfully sportive

With the festive occasion,

Making peculiar beats and drum taps,

Rhythms and fusions,

Joyous noises and bangs

Circled and grouped together

With gay outbursts and hoorays.
