When I'll migrate to America
Will I remain an Indian
or will I become an American?
In what duration shall I shed my Indian scales and grow my American fur?
It is a difficult question.
My children will get American fur
and will have only sparse scales.
They will be American.
Will you then lament loss of your Indian heritage?
How much will they influence American society
and how much America will be in them?
They will soon be lost to India.
God forbid, if a conflict ensues at any time,
they will suffer a predicament.
The few scales will bristle.
But will the fur protect?
That will be a million-dollar question. |
