Theme: Memories

Remembrance of the Past

I find myself alone, whenever
Memories arrive, stealthily in color,
Some bring delight, forever
Some fail to soothe, making us suffer.

We move, run and struggle
Chasing trophies of reward,
Painful memories nag and juggle
Lonely moments, recalling the Lord.

I don't want rebukes all the time
Mixed with bright smiles too,
Heart craves more laughter, sublime
Dragging me into an imaginary world anew.

Remembering urges me to erase some
Disguised in torture, it can be bad,
Yet it never lets me look back glum
For the past never allows me to roam sad.

For, remembrance of the past captures
All we wish, to rejoice, to preserve,
Reviving oneself is the only cure
Miracles are borne when all else seems to falter.

Comment Memories are like salt: the right amount brings out the flavor in food, too much ruins it....!!

Comment I like to think of life as a puzzle with no missing pieces but rather an endless collection of memories waiting to be discovered and shared.
