Theme: Birds

Lapwings

Hotter days of
April have come, 
a Lapwing couple
has built their nest, 
not in an invisible
corner of a secret bush,
But fearlessly chosen a
broad open field.
Now both the alert
Lapwing parents
watchfully guard their 
greenish-gray eggs
which are three in count,
be it a vagabond dog
Or a naughty boy
whoever advances
towards their nest,
both the birds
dash to him 
aggressively, 
making a shrill
of total disliking 
which pricks 
into ears like 
splinters of 
a broken glass,
it works 
sufficiently 
and the intruder 
changes his course
or passes through 
quickly,
keeping a scared eye
on the two
hovering dangers,
But surprisingly- 
they won't
hurt anyone.
Perhaps-
being loving parents 
they believe in
wellbeing of 
everyone's 
offsprings too....!
