Rough and coarse
turn smooth and sweet
like stone in its course
at bottom to traverse
into shape regular.

A metal unused longer
that hidden deeper,
excavated unexpected,
cleaned and brushed
then we say it is brass.

Originality always there
but unseen and unheard
like a rock unfair
when used in the proper
shines brighter.
