Distinct Lines

It is not a thin line

It is quite a distinct one

That demarcates empathy and sympathy.

So emotional I was,

Failed to understand and 

Differentiate between the two

Distinct lines that teach

One what is life.

Now I realize that 

I should have been prudent

To understand people 

And control my emotions.

Do I feel for what I have lost?

Yes, but I also console myself

That all along my life

I had been Humane

Not just a Human 

And to a great extent

Even today!
