Day 1 to Shailaputri - Daughter of Mountain,

Day 2 to Brahmacharini - Unmarried ascetic,

Day 3 to Chandraghanta - Bell-shaped moon,

Day 4 to Kushmanda - Smiling goddess,

Day 5 to Skandamata - Mother of Skanda,

Day 6 to Katyayani - Daughter of Rishi Katyayana,

Day 7 to Kaalratri - Dark, ferocious and fearsome,

Day 8 to Mahagauri - Symbolic of Peace and Affection,

Day 9 to Siddhidatri - Fulfilling, Rewarding with Power.

 

Each passing day given

To the conjecture about the incarnation,

Fasting, worshipping, praying and

Invoking the Goddess,

The forms and variations of Her,

Devi Durga, Goddess of Chivalry and Power,

Vishalakshi Bhagabati, Sarvamangala Kali,

Mahagauri, Mahadevi.
