Why I Stood Out

I stood out in a crowd

Of five and forty

Though not tall and hefty

Nor fair and pretty

Neither smart nor bubbly

But plain and doughty

Found the answer in a jiffy

While taking a selfie

When silver locks stared at me

A sign of ageing gracefully
