This beautiful poem brings back memories of something I read years ago. The author was implying that your first thought is the purest thought...heed it's calling. As an example he cited an instance of a beggar...a gentleman's first instinct was to give a $; however, he hesitated, pondered over all the choices, reasons, and what ifs...kept on walking without giving. Result: the beggar did not receive anything, but neither did the gentleman!
