We were travelling in a car to attend a wedding
At a resort situated near a rose garden where the fragrance was permeating
On the way, I saw two elephants were walking
By the side of the lake, their calves were following,
Suddenly the elephants stopped and turned back noticing
The calves were leisurely drinking
The water from the lake and sprinkling
The water over their bodies and enjoying
The elephants assumed their calves would follow them after finishing
Their bath but the calves for a while were basking
To the surprise of the elephants, they found their calves were relaxing
Under the shade of a tree, the elephants came back gently tapping
The calves with their tusks, by the time they were realising
The presence of their parents that they were being
Carried and after going some distance they dropped them commanding
The calves to continue walking
And no more pampering to reach their dwelling
This shows the similarity in behaviour between the offspring
Of humans and animals which is astonishing. |
