One cold evening, I was taking
A stroll in a park and enjoying
The cool breeze and admiring
The colourful flowers blooming.
I saw a friend of mine talking
Over the mobile, the moment he saw me coming
Near him, he switched off his mobile after exchanging
Pleasantries, then he started talking
About his holiday in the USA, suddenly he was feeling
Restless to see a little boy eating
Ice cream. He went near him and said: “Consuming
Ice cream in this weather, you will be catching
Cold”. Then the little boy said: “My grandmother is 90 years old" before letting him
Complete his sentence, my friend said: "Is she advising
You to have ice cream in this climate?" The little boy started replying:
"She always says do not keep poking
Your nose in other people’s business." My friend left the place waving
His hand towards me. I felt he must be feeling
Humiliated about the remark the little boy was making
In my presence. I realized one has to be careful while interacting
With the present-day kids and avoid old school of thinking. |
