My two dear house cats They teach me about love The way peace is taught By a snow white dove The smaller one is Mishtie She is nothing but a darling She lies down beside me curling She does so without snarling.
Off and on she takes a big yawn Exposing her mouth as large as a lawn I know her huge mouth is nothing but a charade From that mouth oozes nothing but kisses To give away love, no chance she misses.
The bigger cat is Brishtie, she is the rain Who drops in drops, or pours in a sheet At night her yellow black eyes glitter like sleet My two little cats, they pour love on me They have turned into apples of my eyes to be.
Loving is what they teach me Love, the most illusive of all feelings Love, the greatest delusion of all dealings. I am amazed how two little cats can teach so much All I do is soak up the love by putting my touch. Their softness, warmth and beseeching eyes Offer me the love ~ Like the peace offered by a snow-white dove.
