Mother, We can never thank you enough! No other can spread unconditional love, Like you have with a life too tough.
When Father was gone to God's beautiful land, And never again, could he hold our hand, You held our hands and loved us pure, You went through quite a lot and more.
You have been a pillar of strength to us, You have never frowned on all our fuss, You walked long distance to save a cent, So that you could manage our fees and rent.
Quite often you went to bed without food, But never failed to feed us good. For us, you smoothened the path too rough, Dear Mother, we can never thank you enough.
I wrote this poem in remembrance of my mother Jayalakshmi Iyer.
