The lights fade away
the curtain falls softly
the actors unmask themselves
put on the masks of their lives
slip into stereotypical roles
melt into clichés
the silent echo of footsteps dies slowly
But wait! don't go yet
I am still here
unshed moisture in my eyes
unmasked, not yet masked-naked
when the teardrops fall
and the air fills with the retching of my soul
when I bury the memories
store them in the glass pieces of my heart
a constant reminder of failure
I will leave then
yes, that's when I will leave
