Unscathed Memory

I sat in the store-room,
A brown box lay there,
I wondered what it could contain,
Maybe some unwanted ware'

The box was that of memories,
Which I had preferred to keep to myself,
Now for a moment, right there I freeze.
One by one, they were getting off the shelf!

It contained all those things,
We had always shared.
Caps, notes, cards and earrings
Even the friendly air.

It brought back the memories,
Of the time we had together,
How happy I used to be,
When we went out, be it gardens, school or theater!

You all , were my wonderful friends,
I loved you all more than you'd ever know.
We followed all friendly trends,
And captured the moments glow!

Today in the storeroom,
I feel so sorry.
For, a thing that does not belong here,
Lies mistily forgotten in one box'

It should have been,
In the light of the day,
and lasted throughout, till the time
All our hair turned gray'..

Seeing the sunshine and also the darkness,
We could have made it easily.
Had we all been honest.
But'it didn't ,it lies here
OUR FRIENDSHIP!

Dead it might be for you,
For me it has just fallen sick!
But I don't blame you for it,
It was our fault,
We were young and stupid'..
But I write today to tell you,
I do and always will care for you!
You all and our friendship,
Is my unscathed memory!
