Theme: Trust

Untitled

To me
you opened up your soul
Naked wounds bleeding raw
You stripped your life
Relationship by battered relationship
I witnessed you grow from child,
sibling, friend, lover
to wife and divorcee.

Tossed adrift a choppy sea
Flotsam
You alternated between becoming
driftwood and lifesaver
You feel infested, eaten hollow
by worms
hallucinations of a confused psyche...

But I see
A spirit bent and twisted yet unbroken
The frayed strand of faith
by which you hang on to your sanity
Your courage and tenacity will kindle
a fire to torch your ardor
You will rise from the gray ashes
of your past
To lighten other lives
with the rays of Love, forgiveness,
compassion and hope.
