A dazzling artist is the sun
whose brush end-on
dashes trees and field and water
that makes each inward self
of man and child, of bird and dog,
kindred in the sight.
No wonder then as kin
the future flawless blue,
shimmering green the range and roof,
the distant clarity
achievement of all goals.
Sun all statement bright,
joy of couples in the park,
of kids blossoming into play,
of toddlers in their parents' eyes,
of joggers, cyclists, walkers,
nuances of delight.
They say we need rain;
without a somber cloud in sight,
who cares to contradict the glow.
