To switch the telly OFF is very much
like death; for ON the imagery of life
takes over, plot and action all but touch
us physically; though moved, there is relief
in the distinction from real life of fate:
that, on the box, which draws us cunningly,
charms us completely, against that whose date
and time secures us here sustainably.
But life scenarios are paralleled:
the telly kind abrupted by a button
change pressed; the real life kind the act withheld;
to which the former lends an intuition
in the switch OFF: for though the void is marked,
there is that sudden gain of life remarked. |
