Theme: Exile

When Will the Rainbow Smile Again ?

Dream-blossoms thirst for rain
Crying their hearts in vain, in vain:
Decades dry deluding passed
When will the rainbow smile again?

Ambitious sun-gleams for fragrance, flavor
Their hues they sent for Indra's favor
The god intriguing intrigued the naive
Vibrant dance turned a wave.

Violet violent, Indigo in
Blue-blue eyed lost in din
Green still green, yellow in bed
Orange sweet: says sunset red.

Dance! Dance! Enthralls the wave
Melodies amazing songs rave
Bemused, forgot the dreams on sand
Wait to bloom in alien land.

Dream-blossoms search the Vale
Across the hills beyond the dale
Thirst scorched witty sharp
Live on nectar of their wail.

Yet ever asserting rightful claim
Take care, an' never miss their aim
Dreams on sand, they wish to bloom
Wishes with myriad buds they groom.

Rightful claim they sing as refrain:
When will the rainbow smile again
Rainbow will sing and smile again
Our effort will never go in vain.
