Woman

woman.jpg
A woman can be called a mans woe,
Yet seldom he thinks better than keep her under his toe.
She sees to it that the home fires keep burning,
But faces trouble at every turning,
She has to smile whole day in office,
Never letting the boss guess that she is a novice.
She keeps juggling between office and house,
Mostly flustered but without a grouse.
She has to please each and every one,
Whether they help her or keep things undone.
The mom in law is always complaining,
While pop in law is too demanding.
Husband wants all her time,
And kids don't let her save a dime.
Her mind buzzes with budgeting and bills,
Though her heart longs for frocks and frills.
She sets the oven and the machine,
She has to keep the house clean.
A neighbor pops in for help and advice,
She tries to be very tactful and wise.
The maid comes sobbing to her door,
Her husband has pushed her on the floor.
He slapped her hard losing his cool,
Her face is swollen black and blue.
She consoles the maid and asks her to leave,
Putting the flour onto the sieve.
She is running late and is sure to miss the bus,
Her boss will surely make a fuss.
The evening has her tackling the children's homework,
With no time to celebrate her husband's office perks.
Life goes on with the same speed,
But she has time to help everyone in need.
